Our City, Our Power Campaign: The Growing Movement for Public Power in San Francisco

Join the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) on June 23 from 12:30-1:30pm to learn about the Our City, Our Power campaign and how public power in San Francisco could create a resilient, equitable, and clean energy future. San Francisco is uniting behind cleaner, more reliable, and more affordable public power. San Franciscans can secure our clean energy future and put an end to PG&E’s skyrocketing rates by fully switching to public power through public ownership of the local electric grid. The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is a City department that has provided safe and reliable electricity for 100 years. Today, through Hetch Hetchy Power it serves all City buildings and some of San Francisco’s most important assets, including our airport, general hospital, police stations, and Muni. The City also created CleanPowerSF to provide renewable power for about 380,000 homes and businesses. With the power generated through Hetchy Power and CleanPowerSF, the SFPUC already provides more than 75% of the electricity consumed in San Francisco. We will end the presentation with time for Q&A discussion and will share ways to get involved in this important effort.
