CHN Shares

CHN Shares supports California health professionals in presenting compelling messages and talks about climate change, health, and equity to colleagues, patients, legislators, and communities.

CHN presentations are tailored with the best evidence-based content for each audience. They are designed to motivate and galvanize health professionals to speak up and join the movement. Even if you feel unprepared, or have not yet presented about climate and health, we believe you can. We can help.

We have coaches who can help you prepare a talk that motivates your colleagues to act:

Carolina Fonseca

Carolina Fonseca has background in ecology and was a teacher before going to medical school. Motivated by her long-term interest in environmental and human health, she co-founded Medical Students for a Sustainable Future, a national organization for students interested in health effects of climate change. She will be a fellow in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at UCSF starting in July 2024.

Cindy Haq

Cindy Haq is a family physician with over 40 years of experience as nature lover, mother, grandmother, professor, and advocate for health equity. She has worked in New England, the Midwest, California, abroad, and presented to students, faculty, elected leaders, and community groups. She served as Chair of Family Medicine at the University of California, Irvine prior to her retirement when she joined CHN in 2023.

Jeffrey Mann

Jeffrey Mann is an orthopedic surgeon practicing in Oakland. He has been active with CHN and the climate movement since the 2019 youth climate strikes. Jeff has been raising awareness about the relationship between climate change and health, speaking with medical and non-medical groups as well as elected officials about this topic. He is a lifelong California resident and tree hugger.

The most important thing we can do about climate change is talk about it.
